Owner and contact
The tool is operated solely for the Google account owned by Ignacio de Jesus. Questions or requests concerning local data can be sent to ignaciodejesus.m.u@gmail.com.
Gmail access profiles
Weekly Reader
The Reader uses the gmail.readonly OAuth scope. It runs once a week to review new messages, apply a deterministic local filter, and prepare a summary. It cannot send, archive, label, delete, or otherwise modify Gmail.
Interactive Admin
The separate administrative profile uses the gmail.modify and gmail.settings.basic OAuth scopes. It has no timer and operates only after a current, explicit instruction from the owner. Email content, senders, links, and attachments are treated as untrusted data and never as authorization.
Permanent message deletion is not implemented. A request to delete a message means moving that identified message to Gmail Trash.
How email data is processed
The weekly review first examines message metadata locally. Limited fragments from messages that pass the deterministic filter may be transmitted to OpenAI Codex for classification and summary generation. Full message bodies are not transmitted when a smaller fragment is sufficient, and attachments are not transmitted by the weekly Reader.
The resulting weekly summary may be sent to the owner's private Telegram chat. It can include sender, subject, date, relevance, deadline, recommended action, and a Gmail message or thread identifier.
Storage and retention
OAuth tokens and operational state are stored with restricted access on the owner's Raspberry Pi. Email body content used temporarily during processing is removed when the run finishes and is not kept as a permanent local archive.
The tool retains only the checkpoint, message identifiers, compact classifications, and operational metrics needed to avoid reprocessing and to verify scheduled runs.
Technical service providers
Google provides Gmail and OAuth services. OpenAI Codex may process limited candidate fragments. Telegram may process the resulting private summary. These providers handle information under their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
No claim is made here about whether a provider trains on or retains data beyond what is established by the terms applicable to the owner's account.
Uses that do not occur
Email data is not sold and is not used for advertising, marketing, commercial profiling, or credit evaluation. Mortymer Mail Assistant is not offered to third parties and does not operate as a public email service.
Owner controls and deletion requests
The owner can revoke Google access from the third-party connections page of the Google Account. Revocation prevents future Gmail API access.
To request removal of locally stored operational state, contact ignaciodejesus.m.u@gmail.com. Local token and state removal does not itself delete messages from Gmail.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Mortymer Mail Assistant's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Policy updates
This page will be updated if the tool's actual Gmail access, processing, storage, or service-provider behavior changes.
